We know Lady Gaga wears bizarre (and potentially dangerous!) things on her body, but the things coming out of her mouth are typically just as captivating to behold. The Lady sat down with Rolling Stone and talked sex, drugs and rock n’ roll—well, a lack of sex, still enjoying some drugs, and Michael Jackson.

Usually we pick only 7 Classy Quotes to highlight, but there were just too many hot-like-Mexico bon mots in this interview to pass up. Enjoy!

THE 11 CLASSIEST QUOTES FROM LADY GAGA’s ROLLING STONE COVER STORY

*On whether the media hurts her feelings: “When they start sating that you have extra appendages, you have to assume that they’re unable to destroy you.”

*On how she overcomes feeling vulnerable: “When I wake up in the morning, I feel just like any other insecure 24-year old girl. Then I say, ‘Bitch, you’re Lady Gaga, you get up and walk the walk today.'”

*On no longer doing some drugs: “Sometimes it really freaks me out—or I should say, it petrifies me—when I think about laying in my apartment [in New York] with big bites from bedbugs and roaches on the floor and mirrors with cocaine everywhere and no will or interest in doing anything but making music and getting high.”

*On still liking some other drugs: “I like MDMA.”

*On her current celibacy: “Sex is certainly not, like, a priority at the moment.”

*On forgoing talking to a professional about her inner demons: “I’m terrified of therapy because I don’t want it to mess with my creativity.”

*On motherhood: “I’m terrified of babies… I think, creatively as a woman, you change once you give birth. I’m totally not ready for that.”

*On hating Hollywood: “I’ll always have one high heel in New York City. I live in Hollywood, but you can’t make me love Hollywood. I’ll never love Hollywood.”

*On keeping her private life private: “I have the right to choose whether or not I want to be a celebrity, and I don’t want to be one… I’d much rather people write about what I wear and what I’m singing and what I do in my videos than about who I’m fucking. I mean, that, for me, is the kiss of death.”

*On her next album: “I’m going to announce the title of the album at midnight on New Year’s… I’m just gonna get the album title tattooed on me and put out the photo.”

*On always playing a character for her fans, even if she got hurt: “Michael [Jackson] got burned, and he lifted that glittered glove so damn high so his fans could see him, because he was in the art of show business. That’s what we do.”

Well, she has a point—even in death, Michael Jackson still manages to entertain people in various ways (and make a whole lot of money in the process), although one could argue that prioritizing your fans’ enjoyment over your own well-being is not a good piece of advice.

But we do applaud Gaga for rejecting all the benefits of being a celebrity, as well as being able to control the public so that they focus on her outfits more than her personal life—although when she’s trying to live that life, she doesn’t do a very good job at being all that private. (ie. Don’t wear a studded bra to a baseball game unless you’re looking for attention.)
