Usher Warms Up For ‘Versus’ With “Hot Tottie”

Say this much for Usher: the man knows how to keep a fire burning. “Get In My Car”, the first track from his upcoming Versus EP, debuted at #19 on the Billboard Hot 100, but just in case it falls short, he’s got another round in the chamber. Check the Polow Da Don-produced “Hot Toddy”, featuring Jay-Z, after the jump.

According to the recently surfaced Versus tracklisting, “Hot Toddy” also features Ciara, but it appears this version instead showcases the vocal skills of songwriter Ester Dean.

The track finds Usher on the prowl, challenging his listener from the start with the aside “can you keep me faithful”? But the real treat here is the way the beat switches up about three minutes in, signaling the arrival of King Hov.

What do you think of the tracks you’ve heard from Versus so far? (Sidenote: we love the slow-burning “There Goes My Baby” — which appears on both Raymond V. Raymond and Versus — but is it really good enough to release twice?)
