Not content to wait till the chilly winter months, AOL Radio Blog appeased its itchy trigger finger by already posting its 10 Best Songs Of 2010 list (with a “To Date” tacked on, of course). Two of our own Song Of Summer contenders appear on AOL’s  pop-friendly tally—though not the winner. So if you’re looking for a bubblegum alternative to Amazon.com’s eclectic best of the year roundup, head below to see what made the cut.

Note that six of the 10 tunes AOL pulled from listener ratings on the site’s Fresh 40 station topped the Billboard Hot 100 this year. Of those, Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg’s “California Gurls” (#10) has spent the most weeks at #1 (six). The blog’s top pick, Rihanna’s “Rude Boy,” spent a grand total of five weeks atop the main pop chart.

Of Ri Ri’s jam, AOL Radio Blog notes, “Driven by steel drums, the ska and dancehall track’s title references Jamaican slang—specifically males who are continually in trouble. After all, who doesn’t love a bad boy?”

Meanwhile, absent from AOL’s list is Train’s inescapable “Hey, Soul Sister,” which thus far is the best-selling digital track (at 3.3 million paid downloads) of 2010. (That said, “Hey, Soul Sister” was technically released as a single last year.) Seven of of the hits here, however, were in Billboard‘s recent grouping of the top sellers.
