Jane Lynch To Host ‘SNL’—But Will Michael Jackson Rock ‘Glee’?

In awesome things happening to awesome people news, Glee‘s Emmy-nominated Jane Lynch will host the October 9 episode of Saturday Night Live. Maybe Sue Sylvester’s idol Olivia Newton John can be the musical guest? In any case, we’re already looking forward to a long-delayed Glee spoof on SNL. Keenan Thompson as Mercedes and Andy Samberg as Artie, anyone?

In other Glee-riffic news, could the Madonna, Lady Gaga and upcoming Britney-themed episodes of the show have been leading to the grand slam of musical tributes—a Michael Jackson ep? After the jump, catch thecast of the Fox hit wax poetic on the possibility of honoring the King of Pop.

Although nothing has been confirmed yet, rumors are swirling that Adam Shankman (So You Think You Can Dance, Step Up 3-D) will direct an episode featuring Jackson’s songbook.

“That would be pretty cool,” Matthew Morrison told MTV on the red carpet of the Teen Choice Awards. “He is probably the best and most iconic performer in the history of music.”

Jenna Ushkowitz declared, “That’s a scary, scary episode to do… that would be absolutely amazing.”
