T.I. Performs His Hits At His All-Star Comeback Concert

Newly freed T.I. celebrated his first post-jail show at Capitale in New York, sharing the stage with the likes of Mary J. Blige and B.o.B. The rapper played his biggest hits, from “Swagga Like Us” to “Live Your Life”, and even commented on his recent jail stint, which he gives “two toes down.” Details of the “welcome back!” bash below.

At the AXE-sponsored event, Blige (who recently performed with T.I. at the Takers premiere), B.o.B, Swizz Beatz, Keri Hilson, Cam’ron, Vado and Maino all took the stage with the newly-married star. The crowd was going insane for the hip-hop fantasia that was his “One Night Only” show, as you can see with MJB joined T.I. for “Remember Me” and “Good Love.”

In a series of interviews before the show, T.I. spoke of his forthcoming album King Uncaged, which has just been pushed back to September 28 so he can concentrate on promoting his movie Takers. “[In prison] when I was so frustrated that it made me feel such and such, I made sure I wrote that down, like, ‘I feel like this is some bullshit, because … ’” he said. “When you hear the album, you’ll be able to pinpoint aggression, and that’s due to me capturing those moments of incarceration.”

Jail may have inspired T.I.’s writing process—he supposedly has over 100 songs to choose from when deciding Uncaged‘s track list—and he even detailed some entertaining ways to pass the time, including coaching softball, playing football and teaching an unspecifed class. However, he does not recommend being incarcerated if you’re looking for a good time.

“No! Not at all, not even a little bit,” he laughed off. “By no stretch of the imagination! I don’t want anyone to assume, think, or believe that for one moment. Two thumbs down. Two big toes, down!”
