“We’re awesome!” declared Train’s frontman Patrick Monahan as they entered the intimate setting of their MTV Unplugged taping. “I don’t even think we need to play.” But the band indulged the crowd anyway by opening with their megahit “Hey, Soul Sister”, following it up with a stripped down set of their biggest songs. Jump below to catch a joyous live performance of “Hey, Soul Sister”.

We think Monahan’s voice is even more impressive watching him perform live—his falsetto really soars. We don’t know how it’s possible since this song has been playing on the radio for over a year, but we still can’t help but sing along to this undeniable tune. Let’s see if we’re saying the same thing about “California Gurls” in a year’s time.

Watch Train perform “Drops of Jupiter” by heading over to MTV Buzzworthy, or watch the band’s entire acoustic show over here.
