The surest way to someone’s heart? Making them a mixtape. And if you make the actual tape come to life, as Bruno Mars does in his impossibly sweet “Just The Way You Are” music video, you’ve probably scored infinite bonus points with your honey. Head below to check out Bruno’s clip, which, as MTV Buzzworthy points out, is perfect for fall—aka “snuggle weather.”

The video was directed by Ethan Lader, and Bruno has been such a radio staple this year—both vocally on other artists’ tracks and as a writer—it’s hard to believe “Just The Way You Are” is his debut single.

The smooth crooner spoke to us last week about his forthcoming album Doo-Wops & Hooligans. “I’m a big fan of doo-wop music, my album has a little bit of that influence, with the simplicity of it… you can listen to a thousand doo-wop songs, and it’s the same four chords,” Mars said. “But it’s the message behind the song—its straight to the point and it’s beautiful. That’s what you call your girl, your ‘doo-wop.’ I call my girlfriend my ‘doo-wop’! On this album, I have records that women are going to relate to and men are going to relate to. So doo-wops are for the girls, and hooligans are for the guys.”

Doo-Wops & Hooligans will be released October 5th, three days before Bruno’s 24th birthday.
