“Dressing up is fun!” delightfully announced Ana Matronic at the Scissor Sisters’ Hollywood tour stop on Saturday, and the flamboyantly-styled crowd certainly agreed with her. Ms. Matronic and Jake Shears played Mistress and Master of Ceremonies for their campy, non-stop spectacle of a concert at the Palladium, running through almost every track off their new explosive electro-pop album Night Work and hitting their fan favorites, like “Take Your Mama” and “Filthy/Gorgeous” to boot.

The mood inside the venue was so euphoric, you’d have no idea it was the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks, although the New York-based band did touch on the subject just once: “The one thing I learned from that day was the real amazing fact that we are alive in this moment together,” Ana Matronic told the crowd to massive applause.
