Patrick Stump Sings The ‘One Tree Hill’ Theme
We’ve been patiently waiting all year for new Patrick Stump music, and this cover of Gavin DeGraw’s “I Don’t Want To Be” isn’t exactly what we were hoping for. Haven’t we heard this song enough on American Idol? And how long are we going to be treated to just Stumpified covers instead of original tunes? Still, beggers can’t be choosy, so we’ll gladly accept anything he chooses to sing. Listen below!

(Yes, it’s somehow managed to stay on the air that long.)
Gavin DeGraw’s song hasn’t been used as One Tree Hill‘s theme in three seasons, but it’s making a comeback with an eclectic mix of artists taking turns putting their spin on the track. (Showtime’s Weeds did a similar stunt with their opening credits song, “Little Boxes”, during the show’s second and third seasons.) Aimee Mann, Tegan & Sara and Kate Voegele will join Stump in singing DeGraw’s hit song.
Just in case you thought your favorite P-Stump could dare use any robotic enhancement on his vocals, the singer took to his rarely-used Twitter to “Re: One Tree Hill theme cover, no I didn’t/don’t auto-tune. Thanks to CW for the opportunity. Stay tuned.”
