This afternoon, Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio show debuted a new Gorillaz song, “Doncamatic (All Played Out)”, and the band’s guiding force Damon Albarn describes the track as “fresh, not too minor and pop.” We agree with Damon’s assessment of his song, and will even add that the jumpy beat sounds like it could have came straight from your favorite 8-bit video game. The song features rising Manchester electro singer Daley on vocals, and according to a blurb written on the band’s YouTube channel, the track and its title “comes from The Donca Matic – the groundbreaking Japanese-designed drum machine which started the Korg Musical Instrument Company in 1963!”

Not sure that needed an exclamation point, but yeah! Korg! Gorillaz kicked off their North American tour last week in Montreal (read about it over at SPIN), and we’re sure they were just as electrifying live as they were when we jammed to them at Coachella.

The song will be available for download on November 11. And the band’s “On Meloncholy Hill (Feed Me Remix)” is on the Vampire Diaries Season 1 soundtrack — which you can win by entering our contest! Radical!
