Daft Punk are making us hold out as long as possible til they drop new tunes (their Tron: Legacy soundtrack finally drops November 22), but their influence is heard in spades on N.E.R.D.’s new single, “Hypnotize U”. The band premiered their low-key, but no less awesome collaboration with the French house-music masters on Letterman last week, and now you get to hear the studio recording by hopping below.

If we can take anything away from this one song alone, it’s that Pharrell’s falsetto still rivals both Justin Timberlake and Robin Thicke’s as the smoothest in the biz, and that Daft Punk should produce tracks for other artists more often. A lot more often. The galactic-sounding track from the group’s fourth album, Nothing, out November 2. [Pitchfork]
