Yesterday Forbes unveiled its 2010 World’s 100 Most Powerful Women list, i.e. “the female power elite that reflects the New Order of now.” The publication culled its ladies from the worlds of politics, business, media and lifestyle. Not surprisingly, Lady Gaga and Beyonce ranked in the Top 10. (You may recall that Bey came in at #2 and Gaga at #4 on Forbes‘ Celeb 100 list earlier this year). See exactly where they landed below. Forbes‘ top woman is First Lady Michelle Obama. And not too far behind her is touring machine Lady Gaga, who comes in at #7. Gaga’s “Telephone” partner in crime Beyonce is at #9, while onetime American Idol judge Ellen DeGeneres is at #10.

Madonna has been concentrating on aspects of her empire other than music lately, which probably helped her arrive at #29. (Let’s all thank our “lucky stars” she put acting on hold, too.) And just a few notches down from the Material Girl is 2010 MTV VMAs host Chelsea Handler (who, by the way, is not dating 50 Cent).

Other notable entertainers on the Forbes 100 Most Powerful Women list include Oprah Winfrey (#3), Twilight authoress Stephanie Meyer (#49) and domestic diva Martha Stewart (#99).
