Lucky contest winners were treated to an intimate-yet-plugged-in performance by recent Billboard cover girl Taylor Swift and her band at New York’s Metropolitan Pavilion on Monday—the day of the release of the singer’s third LP Speak Now. The near-hour-long gig was broadcast live on MTV, CMT and VH1. In addition to belting out her latest tunes, Swift engaged her fans in a little Q&A session about her album. Watch below. Currently four songs from Taylor’s Speak Now are in the iTunes Top 10, with “Sparks Fly” topping the download chart. (Needless to say, the LP itself is #1 at the digital store, also.) Here she is doing album title track “Speak Now” for her fans last night.

Before launching into “Back To December”—a song about her relationship with Twilight actor Taylor Lautner, Swift told the crowd, “I ended up writing this song— actually every song—alone, and that happened by circumstance. … I’ve never written an entire album on my own before, so songwriting is my favorite thing. It’s all what makes life make more sense to me.”

And you didn’t think she’d end the night without performing her single “Mine”, did you? (Although we would have preferred her peppy anti-bullying tune “Mean” instead!)
