After her intimate gig for fans at New York’s Metropolitan Pavilion last night, you didn’t think Taylor Swift was just going to go sight-seeing in the Big Apple, did you? Come on, now—the girl has a brand new album to promote! Watch Taylor perform several of her jams on the Today Show after the jump. This morning on the Today Show Toyota Concert Series stage, Ann Curry rattled off some of the critical praise Speak Now has been garnering. “Having it be received like that is so incredible! I spent so much of my time in the past couple of days just dancing around,” Swift said in response. “I’m so happy!”

“Mine”

Rumors have been swirling that several songs on the LP address Taylor’s past relationships with suitor such as John Mayer and Taylor Lautner—something Curry didn’t shy away from asking the singer about.

“One of my goals as time has gone by has been to—if I was fortunate enough to have success in music—stay the same person and stay the same songwriter,” Taylor replied. “And when I started writing songs when I was 12 years old, I would write songs in a room about people in my life. And so as the years have gone on, I’ve continued to write about my life and the people in it.”
