N.E.R.D. Want To “Hypnotize U” (And Lots Of Beautiful Ladies) With Their New Vid

The sexy stone-faced ladies from N.E.R.D.’s Letterman performance of “Hypnotize U”  (the same appearance in which they premiered this Daft Punk-produced single) star in the group’s new video, following Pharrell Williams’ every move throughout his enormous mansion. Fall under N.E.R.D.’s spell by watching the clip below.

N.E.R.D. –  “Hypnotize U”

The video, directed by Paul Hunter, strikes us as being just on the edge of misogynistic – we figure this is meant to be sexy, but we’re a little discomforted seeing a group of women blindly following Pharrell wherever he goes, humping the air in a state of undress, totally under his command. (To be fair, Pharrell sheds his clothes for a healthy portion of the vid, too, but that’s of his own volition.)

But mostly, our biggest problem is that we think this concept of hypnotized followers could have been executed better and gone even further than having a lazy day hanging ’round a mansion.

Also, we’re just a tad bit disappointed there’s no Daft Punk cameo in the clip. Can you blame us? They show up at a Phoenix gig, but can’t swing by Pharrell’s pad filled with mind-altered ladies for a quick dip in the pool?

The most hypnotic part of the video? Not-so-sublte product placement, of course! You WILL buy this Beatbox stereo… you WILL give Dre lots and lots of your money…
