Mariah Carey’s Mom Patricia Sings Out In New Holiday Video
We already knew that Mariah Carey’s mom Patricia Carey gets operatic on “O Come All Ye Faithful/Hallelujah Chorus”, which appears on Mimi’s holiday album Merry Christmas II You. But now the pair are actually seen belting the songs out in their new music video. Watch below.
Mariah and Mama Mimi are shown in the recording studio in footage that looks like it was shot on an old Super 8mm camera back in the day, giving the video the feel of an old family movie. (That said, judging by the size of the pregnant diva in the video, we’d guess that it was filmed pretty recently.) Edited in are photos of the Careys and clips of Nick Cannon from previous holidays.
It’s a cute gimmick that totally works for the festive video, and it has us eager to watch Mariah belt out some of her latest holiday offerings tomorrow night during NBC’s 13th annual Christmas In Rockefeller Center concert.
