Katy Perry led the lineup of VH1 Divas Salute The Troops, which aired last night and also included Nicki Minaj, Sugarland, Keri Hilson and Paramore on the roster. The evening saw Perry rotate through various patriotic outfits—from a sleeveless star-spangled top to Andrews Sisters-type attire for her cover of “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” with Hilson and Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles. By far, one of the highlights was Katy and Nicki teaming up for a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”—mostly because we get to hear Minaj’s little-used singing voice! Watch below. The Divas Salute The Troops special was hosted by Kathy Griffin and aired from the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, though Paramore’s performance was broadcast live from Kuwait.
