Glee fave Britney Spears, who last tackled radio and the charts last fall with her #1 single “3”, looks set to return at some point in early 2011 with a new jam called “Hold It Against Me.” Songwriter/producer/overall hitmaker Dr. Luke took to Twitter yesterday to quash the rumor that a new Britney song called “Don’t Hold It Against Me” would be released. Said the Doc: “I / we never wrote a song called ‘don’t hold it against me’…. BewaRe of InaccuraTe info kids ;-)…We did write ‘hold it against me’…” The “we” is likely referring to Max Martin, who Luke is said to be executive-producing Spears’ upcoming seventh studio album with. Britney, who turned 29 on December 2,  tweeted last week that her LP will drop in March. “I’m almost done with my new album and it will be coming out this March. I AM IN L-O-V-E WITH IT!” she posted.

PopJustice claimed today that “Hold It Against Me” will be the first single off the yet-to-be-titled album. One wonders how this new tune will stack up against other “Me” classics from Brit like “Piece Of Me”, “Me Against The Music”, “Gimme More” and “Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know”?
