It’s finally time to inhale Dr. Dre’s “Kush” video, which finds the respected rap medic prescribing some powerful hip hop chronic with Akon and his old “Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang” friend Snoop Dogg. Watch the Joseph Kahn-directed clip below, and rest assured that Dre’s Detox is this much closer to being a reality. Last month Dre described “Kush” to L.A. Power 106 personality Big Boi like this: “…it’s about weed smoking, and I don’t want people to think that that’s what my album is about. This is actually the only song with that type of content in it. It’s not a representation of what the album is.”

Meanwhile, Kahn, who recently directed videos for Nicole Scherzinger (“Poison”), Keri Hilson (“Pretty Girls Rock”) and Dre’s protege Eminem (“Love The Way You Lie”), was clearly on board with giving the Beats By Dre headphones a pretty fly (literally) plug in the clip.

Bonus points to Snoop’s rad throwback braids. While talking about the “Kush” vid in a press release, the Doggfather noted, “Dr Dre, that’s my big homeboy, that’s my big brother. He gave me my start. so whenever he calls me to come through and do what I need to I’m there for him. Akon’s part of the family too so this is what we do, we just make great music.” Speaking of Akon, we have to start booking flights on his airline.
