‘Burlesque’, ‘Glee’ & Gwyneth Paltrow Snag 2011 Golden Globe Nominations

The 2011 Golden Globe nominations were announced this morning, and—pick your jaws up off your breakfast plates, kiddies—Burlesque nabbed an impressive three nods (Christina Aguilera’s number “Bound To You” will compete with Cher’s “You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me” for Best Original Song, while the movie itself is up for Best Motion Picture—Comedy Or Musical). Other music-related nominees—Glee, which triumphed last year, is up once again for Best Television Series—Comedy Or Musical, while its stars Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch and Chris Colfer were all singled out by the Hollywood Foreign Press, as well. Even Gwyneth Paltrow was recognized for her vocal abilities (though not for her Glee stint). Her Country Strong jam “Coming Home” is also up for Best Original Song.

Elsewhere, Trent Reznor got props in the Best Original Score category for The Social Network. He’ll compete against the scores for Inception (Hans Zimmer), Alice In Wonderland (Danny Elfman), The King’s Speech (Alexander Desplot) and 127 Hours (A.R. Rahman).
