Adele Performs “Someone Like You” On ‘Ellen,’ ’21’ Set For #1 Debut
Like at last week’s BRIT Awards, London songstress Adele performed a haunting, stripped-down version of her 21 ballad “Someone Like You” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today. Back in her home country, Adele had the good fortune to watch the song sail to the top of the UK chart this week. Meanwhile, luck is on the 22-year-old singer’s side on these shores, as well—Billboard reports today that 21 is on track to debut at #1 on the Top 200 album chart next week. Watch Adele on Ellen below. Billboard notes that 21 could sell anywhere between 275,000 and 300,000 copies before the week is over, which would easily place it at #1. It would also mark the best sales week for a top album so far this year. This week Adele’s single “Rolling In The Deep” finally cracked the Top 40 on the Hot 100 when it jumped from #41 to #26.
Over in the UK, 21 has been the #1 album for the past four weeks.
