Despite the initial misspelling on the “6 Foot 7 Foot” single cover art, there is no “e” in Cory Gunz’s first name. And Gunz will indeed appear in the music video for Lil Wayne’s first post-prison single—a clip that MTV now says will premiere on Thursday (March 3) at 7:54 p.m. EST on the network. As Wayne told MTV News, he had a particular strategy when it came to adding Gunz on his first single from the upcoming Tha Carter IV:

“You know, I put Nicki on the right songs, I put Drake on the right songs; I picked the right song. It makes people pay attention … because I know that people were waiting to see what I’ll say on my first record, my first Lil Wayne record [since getting out of prison]… It’s like I’m forcing it on you: ‘You got to hear this.’ It made everybody who didn’t know Cory Gunz [say], ‘Who is that?’ “

The “6 Foot 7 Foot” video was directed by Hype Williams, who also recently shot Kanye West’s “All Of The Lights” and Ke$ha’s “We R Who We R” clips. Our fingers are crossed that this will be a much more classy affair than some of the hastily-made Lil Wayne vids that were shot just before he went to jail last year.

Weezy will be rolling out on the I Am Music II tour in two weeks with pals Travis Barker, Rick Ross and Nicki Minaj in tow.
