With many of today’s pop divas unleashing dark and creepy music videos, it’s nice to see young hair-whipper Willow Smith still maintaining a bright outlook when it comes to her own clips. Head below to watch the entertainment heiress rise from the sand and bring a city to life in her “21st Century Girl” music vid. The intro to Willow’s Rich Lee-directed video for her second single plays like a scene out of one her dad’s sci fi flicks: an old woman (played by Cicely Tyson!) walking through the desert conjures 10-year-old Smith out of the sand, and the empowered pre-teen  and her pals commence with pulling shoes, skateboards, a car and even an entire city out of the ground. How Inception of them!

Our favorite part is when Willow is prancing through the streets wearing a bright yellow skirt and boots while decked out in a T-shirt that states “Boys Need Training.” You tell it, 21st Century Girl.

With the rapid pace at which her career is accelerating, we still sometimes can’t believe Willow is barely into the double digits with her birthdays. Then again, maybe she took a few pointers when she met one of pop’s most meteoric fame monsters.
