Nelly Snuggles Up With Kelly Rowland In Their “Gone” Video

Way before Rihanna and Drake ruled the pop/R&B airwaves with “What’s My Name,” there was “Dilemma” by original are-they-or-aren’t-they pair Nelly and Kelly Rowland. And as we know, Nell and Kell partnered up once again for the lovey-dovey tune “Gone” on Nelly’s 5.0 album. Watch the music video below. The gist of the Marc Klasfield-directed video is that Nelly is hanging out by a beachside bar in Cancun, reminiscing about the chick who used to live up the block (i.e. one Kelly Rowland from “Dilemma”)—who he just happened to see the other day.

Well, lo and behold—Ms. Kelly just happens to be lounging by the pool, looking glam in a swimsuit, heels and striped jacket. It’s not long before the two of them are getting frisky on the chaise, cuddling at night by the beach and singing back and forth, using each other’s names in the process.

When we first heard “Gone” back in the fall, we noted that the Jim Jonsin and Rico Love co-production simply came off as a pale retread of “Dilemma.” That said, we can’t deny that seeing Rowland and Nelly back together again in the music video has us feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Sigh. We’re just big softies at heart.

Are you feeling the love for Nelly and Kelly’s “Gone” video?
