Subtle-but-driving Jennifer Hudson I Remember Me track “Angel” surfaced today, and the potent mid-tempo number combines an infectious melody—courtesy of co-producers/writers (and real-life sweethearts) Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz—with Hudson’s smooth powerhouse vocals. Hear it below. “Heaven’s in your arms, got me until the end (got me until the end)/ So let me be your angel, through the golden door I will come runnin’ when you need some more,” sings “Where You At” diva J-Hud.
Part of the charm of “Angel” comes from the drum line-esque beat and Keys’ soft piano chords, which almost give the uplifting jam a retro disco-pop quality.
