He trained her, shaped her music and acting career and acted as professional manager to her from the very beginning days of Destiny’s Child, but now Mathew Knowles will no longer be working with his superstar daughter Beyonce. “I’ve only parted ways with my father on a business level,” the upcoming Glastonbury headliner said in a statement issued yesterday. “He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me.” In a separate statement, Mathew spoke about ending his professional relationship with his 29-year-old daughter:

“The decision for Beyonce and Music World Entertainment to part was mutual. We did great things together, and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment… Business is business and family is family. I love my daughter and am very proud of who she is and all that she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success.”

That success has included worldwide sales of 75 million records so far and star turns in movies like Austin Powers In Goldmember, Dreamgirls and Obsessed. (Next up Beyonce is said to be appearing in a remake of A Star Is Born.)

So far there has been no mention of who will replace Mathew Knowles as Beyonce’s manager. Perhaps she’ll sign up with husband Jay-Z’s own main handler, John Meneilly?
