Britney Spears Opens Up A Bit In ‘I Am The Femme Fatale’

Until last week, when her new album Femme Fatale was released, Britney Spears had kept a relatively low profile in 2011. And even during her television appearances over the past seven days—on Good Morning America and Jimmy Kimmel Live—the “Till The World Ends” singer wasn’t really saying much. Last night’s MTV special I Am The Femme Fatale attempted to dig a little deeper into the world of Spears. See what she revealed below. The special revolved around Britney’s hectic weeks leading up to her album release—a time period that found the singer gearing up for her performance at Rain nightclub in Las Vegas, spending time in the studio while putting the finishing touches on her album and rehearsing for her upcoming summer tour. And, of course, she sat down with MTV’s Sway to discuss the whole process.

“I really like to choose songs that empower people and make them feel good about themselves,” Spears said, when asked how she decides which tracks make the final cut for her records. “I have a team of people that I work with—Max Martin and Dr. Luke, people I’ve worked before that are amazing producers. They bring me a load of songs. But I usually am very quick with the way I work and the type of songs that I like.”

I Am The Femme Fatale also featured footage of Britney recording her upcoming music video for “Till The World Ends,” her latest single, which is currently #6 on iTunes.

The Rain gig was also shown in parts throughout the program. (Routine-wise, it didn’t really differ from Britney’s Good Morning America stint, which was taped two days later.)

At the tail-end of the special, Sway asked Spears if she can see herself still performing, like Madonna, when she hits 50. “I hope so,” the singer quietly said. “Or maybe just doing nothing. I don’t know.”
