Hear Darren Criss & ‘Glee’ Warblers Cover Keane’s “Somewhere Only We Know”

With the release of Glee: The Music Presents The Warblers just around the corner (it’s out April 19, to be exact), there are still a few tracks on the album we’ve yet to hear. But if you’ve been scratching your noggin wondering whether or not Darren Criss and his backing troupe of a cappella crooners would be doing Keane’s 2004 mid-tempo ballad “Somewhere Only We Know” any justice, wonder no longer—and head below! Like with “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy,” it sounds as if some real instruments (or at least studio computer effects) have snuck their way into the production. In fact, there’s a piano, some strings and what appears to be a real drum accompanying New Directions’ rivals here.

But who cares? “Somewhere Only We Know” has long been one of our favorites from Keane’s flawless Hopes And Fears album. And as opposed to some recent Warblers numbers from Glee (“Misery,” “Bills, Bills, Bills”), this one taps into that same magic we first heard when Criss and the gang took on Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” last fall.

Do you agree?
