Today the Guardian reported that I Am Still Music headliner Lil Wayne won’t be bringing his on-stage antics to the UK in the near future. The paper notes that the country’s border agency rejected Weezy’s visa because of the MC’s criminal record, which includes his stint in Rikers Island last year and drug charges stretching back to 2007. (You mean people actually keep track of these things?) However, Wayne’s camp has issued an official statement on the matter. Catch it below. After we picked up on the story, the following statement was issued by Lil Wayne’s tour publicist:

“No visa was ever filed, nor were there any tour dates announced, or tickets sold. Lil Wayne is currently headlining his I Am Still Music Tour across the US and Canada with plans to extend the tour through North America this summer. We hope to bring the I Am Still Music Tour to the UK in the later half of the year.”

Weezy’s upcoming LP Tha Carter IV is set for a May 16 release.
