American Idol Season 7 winner David Cook unwrapped the details for his upcoming album This Loud Morning today, via his official site. The record is set for a June 28 release, and was executive-produced by Matt Serletic (who, in the past, twiddled the knobs on Matchbox Twenty hits like “Push,” “Bent” and “Unwell”). Cook appears in a grassy field on the cover his upcoming LP, standing in front of various speakers while looking slightly disheveled in an untucked shirt with a tie around his neck. And just what is it that’s so loud about this morning David has woken up to? Guess we’ll have to wait a couple more months to find out.

“This album is the culmination of one of the loftiest endeavors I’ve ever undertaken,” Cook says on his site. “The end result is an album that I cannot wait to share with everyone.”

David either wrote or co-wrote This Loud Morning‘s tracks with songwriters like David Hodges, Ryan Tedder, Kevin Griffin and Marti Frederiksen.

The Idol alum’s first single from his new LP, “The Last Goodbye,” will be made available on iTunes this coming Tuesday (April 19). Following that, he’ll perform the song on next week’s American Idol results show (April 21). Till then, why not tide yourself over with David’s cover of Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep”?
