The Grammys aren’t the only time when pop stars bring out the big guns for the red carpet — the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala Benefit is when music’s biggest artists transform into hardcore fashionistas. Beyonce was among those celebrating the launch of the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibit last night. The globetrotter opted for a stunning black mermaid gown — clearly designed for standing rather than for moving, as the singer needed help up just getting up the stairs to enter the event. Madonna looked jaw-droppingly beautiful in her Stella McCartney dress. While Kanye West, never one to go with the crowd, wore a tuxedo jacket with a safety pin closure.

But who was dressed best? Check out our gallery and become a member of Idolator’s Fashion Police by voting below.

Glee’s Lea Michele and Dianna Agron were both lovely ladies in red.
