‘American Idol’ Power List: With James Gone, Scotty McCreery Takes The Lead
With less than two weeks to go before the American Idol finale, we’re down to the wire on our Idol Power List. We had actually been counting on James Durbin, who was previously tops on our weekly tally, making it through to compete during Season 10’s final round. But as we know, it ain’t over till it’s over — and anything can happen in these last few weeks. With James now out of the competition, Scotty McCreery, Haley Reinhart and Lauren Alaina all shift up one. This leaves Scotty (3) on top, and he earns the full three points this week after his top-notch performances on Wednesday evening’s inspirational songs/Leiber & Stoller-themed night. Unfortunately, we also have to dock him one of the points for landing in the Bottom Two last night.
Haley (2) blew us away with her take on “I Who Have Nothing,” and Lauren (1) earns a solitary point given her two performances on Wednesday. Granted, the country-leaning teen wasn’t bad. But between the three remaining contestants, she just didn’t wow this week like Scotty and Haley did.
AMERICAN IDOL POWER LIST, WEEK #10 — TOP 3
1. Scotty McCreery (55, Last Week #2) 2. Haley Reinhart (40, Last week #3) 3. Lauren Alaina (32, Last week #4)
Which two contestants do you think will be left standing during the final week of Idol this year? Is it going to be a country showdown between Scotty and Lauren, or perhaps a diva-off featuring the two female frontrunners? Let us know below!
