These days, when we watch reality singing competitions on TV, we’re not sure if we’re in for a night of music or a night of mackin’ amongst the contestants! Last week, teenagers Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina caused quite a stir when they shared what was apparently an innocent smooch on the American Idol finale. But things were much more, er, adult when Cee Lo Green’s dueling teammates Curtis Grimes and Emily Valentine locked lips on last night’s episode of The Voice. Watch below! This week marked the fourth and final bout of the Battle Rounds on The Voice. Chatty coach Christina Aguilera rounded out her team of four with Lily Elise, who beat out Cherie Oakley after their duet on Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone.” (Trivia time: you may recall that Xtina co-wrote Kelly’s 2003 Top 10 hit “Miss Independent.”)

Meanwhile, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine chose versatile country crooner Jeff Jenkins over Casey Desmond after they sang “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me,” and newlywed Blake Shelton opted for shy teen Xenia Martinez over the equally bashful Sara Oromchi following their “I’ll Stand By You” duet.

But the real passion — and we’re talking of the hot ‘n heavy variety! — came when Curtis and Emily were left to scrap for a place on Cee Lo’s team. Their task was to take on Lady Antebellum’s Grammy-winning smash “Need You Now,” and in the lead-up we found out tattooed Hollywood girl Emily had more than a little crush on Curtis.

However, the 25-year-old aspiring artist from Gilmer, Texas admitted that he once gave up baseball for a girl, and wasn’t about to let the same thing happen with his singing career.

Alas, the romantic sway of Lady Antebellum’s ode to drunk hookups proved to be too powerful.

In the end, Cee Lo went for Curtis. But let’s not forget that Emily lives in L.A., which makes future off-screen “duets” between these two much more convenient.

And let’s all just give it up for Cee Lo, who gave viewers the best possible reaction when he saw Emily and Curtis go for it:

With the Battle Rounds over, next week The Voice goes live, and the 16 remaining contestants face America’s vote.
