Early last month, Lady Antebellum dropped new single “Just A Kiss” seemingly out of nowhere. The song was quietly added to iTunes, and then two days later the Grammy-winning country-pop trio were performing the stirring back-and-forth between crooners Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley on American Idol. Now we finally know the name and release date of the forthcoming album that spawned “Just A Kiss.” CMT reports today that Lady A will release third LP Own The Night on September 13 via Capitol Nashville. The band apparently began recording songs after they won their five Grammys (including Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Country Album Of The Year) a few months back. The album’s title is derived from an upcoming track on the set called “We Owned The Night.”

So far Lady Antebelleum are off to a grand start this time around. “Just A Kiss” debuted at #7 on the Hot 100 after it was made available digitally last month, thus marking the band’s second Top 10 single on the main chart (after their smash “Need You Now,” which peaked at #2). Surprisingly, their latest has only reached #11 so far on the Hot Country Songs chart.

Are you looking forward to Lady Antebellum’s Own The Night, or do you think they should have taken some time off following last year’s multi-Platinum offering Need You Now to avoid creative (and listener) burnout?
