The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers honored extraordinary lover Diddy with their Founding Fathers award, and on hand to introduce the Dirty Money-less “Looking For Love” rapper was last year’s recipient, the one and only Chrysler-shilling Dr. Dre. The actor/producer/person-we-aspire-to-be-when-waking-up claimed “music runs the world” in his speech (though Beyonce might beg to differ) before citing Dre as his favorite producer. Aww! In other news, Drake nixed the teleprompter in favor of speaking “from the heart” in his kudos to Boi-1da and Noah “40” Shebib as Songwriters of the Year. Catch both speeches below.

ASCAP’s 24th Annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards took place in Beverly Hills last night.
