Beyonce Chats With Piers Morgan For An Hour

Beyonce’s appropriately-titled fourth album 4 is out today — legally, that is — and the Glastonbury headliner sat down in London last night for an hour-long interview with Piers Morgan for his CNN show Piers Morgan Tonight. Their conversation ran from topics that were silly (how does perform in such high heels?), personal (is she thinking of having a baby soon?) and emotional (what was she thinking when she sang “At Last” for President Obama?). Watch Bey below. At one point, Piers asked Beyonce what she learned the most about herself in the year she took off  from performing.

“I learned a lot about myself. The biggest thing is is I love to perform. I love music. I love what I do,” she replied. “I love singing in the studio and writing songs and coming up with video treatments to the point that, during that year, I do not count the 72 I recorded as work, because it’s what I was born to do.”

She went on to explain that she was so busy with her career that she didn’t realize that she had won 16 Grammys. “I got up and accepted my awards, but I didn’t realize what an amazing accomplishment that was,” Beyonce said.

One of Bey’s favorite things about her year off? Having random conversations with people on airplanes who didn’t realize who she was.

Be sure to stick around for the footage of 6-year-old Beyonce rapping, “I think I’m bad!” and her story about her mother giving Bey the smackdown at age 15 when she first started getting played on the radio and the fame started to go to her head.
