Lady Gaga, who is currently going toe-to-toe with Britney Spears in our Song Of Summer 2011 poll, covers the August issue of GLBT mag The Advocate. In the issue, she discusses her own advocacy for equality issues and comparisons with the trailblazing pop stars who came before her — particularly the Material Girl. “There’s no drama, there’s no jealousy, there’s no competition,” Mother Monster tells the publication. “I just feel so connected to Madonna in a lot of ways, and I feel connected to Barbra, and I feel connected to Cher and Blondie and all of the women who came before me.” Well, get ready, Gaga, because the supposedly-dethroned Queen Of Pop is on her way back.
