Lil Wayne To Play The 2011 MTV VMAs

Lil Wayne is about to make up for those Tha Carter IV delays (maybe) with a planned performance at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. (See? We knew that Sorry 4 The Wait was only a partial apology.) Wayne’s VMA performance will coincide with the show’s return to Los Angeles, where it will air live from the Nokia Theatre for the second year in a row. MTV hasn’t confirmed this year’s talent lineup, but Weezy’s manager Cortez “Tez” Bryant shared the news with Billboard. Details on the performance and Tha Carter IV release plan below.

Bryant said all those Wayne-iacs will be able to purchase the album from iTunes “immediately after” the VMA performance, with the album in record shops the following day. “August 29, it’s not changing,” Bryant told the trade magazine. Guests on Tha Carter IV include Nas, Jadakiss, and Tech N9ne among others. Wayne’s team is still narrowing down the tracklist, so don’t be shocked if it changes as the album takes shape. One thing’s for sure: Robin Thicke will be buying it.

Think you will too? Let us know on Twitter, Facebook or in the comments below.
