After yet another lineup change two years ago, Sugababes’s most recent album, Sweet 7, was unceremoniously deep-sixed by music buyers upon its release in the girls’ home country of the UK. But all that drama is behind them (or so they hope), and they’ve got a new label deal and a brand new single called “Freedom.” Watch a minute-and-a-half lyric video for the electro-pop track below. Truth be told, with the exception of single “About A Girl” and maybe one or two album tracks, Sweet 7 truly was a dud.

Here’s a clip of “Freedom,” which employs such deep lyrics as “so raise your hand, one fist in the air for freedom-dum-dum-dum” and “tonight is the night that we break the speed of light.”

All goofing on the lyrics aside, we kind of love it.

Do you think the slinky “Freedom” is a decent comeback single for the ‘babes?
