Ex-Sugababe Covers Beyonce’s “Run The World (Girls)”

Almost two years have passed since Keisha Buchanan was unceremoniously kicked out of the Sugababes, but the 26-year-old is finally ready to forge ahead with a solo career. (A move that was probably timed to coincide with the release of her former group’s new single “Freedom”). In a recent London showcase, the “Under Control” singer performed three new songs and a selection of cover versions. Like Nicole Scherzinger before her, Keisha tried her hand at Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” before launching into a cute mash-up of Beyonce’s “Run The World (Girls)” and Cyndi Lauper’s 80s classic “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”. Watch the British songstress take on Bey below.

We particularly enjoyed how she changed the lyrics to “this is how they made me, North West London baby!” and “I think I need a barber, none of those babes can fade me” – a clear dig at her former gal pals. Take that, Heidi!

Did she do Bey’s Major Lazer-sampling club banger justice?
