‘Saved By The Bell’ Gets Remade Into A Slasher Movie In “New Romance” Video

Saved By The Bell nostalgia has become something of a phenomenon in pop culture in the last few years — Jimmy Fallon tried to stage a reunion, Screech is releasing sex tapes and memoirs, and even Justin Bieber is celebrating the early 90s show through his wardrobe choices. However, today comes a new music video “New Romance”, that re-imagines the cheesy sitcom as though it were a slasher movie. We’re so excited! We’re so excited! We’re so… scared!

More like a short parody film than a music video, the clip was directed by Miles Fisher — the star of the new Final Destination 5 movie (which gets a shout-out at the end of the vid, the movie title painted on the side of a school bus that runs everybody over). You might be thinking, “Oh, it’s a stupid movie tie-in”, but that doesn’t negate the enjoyability of this video in the slightest.

It even references Jessie’s pill-popping freak-out! All it’s missing is an oil spill.
