Amy Winehouse Anti-Drug Poster Causes Controversy In Switzerland
News came just over two weeks ago that 27-year-old British singer Amy Winehouse had died, but already the Swiss political party Young SVP has created an online anti-drug ad featuring a rather unflattering photo of the “Rehab” Grammy winner. (Keep in mind that, so far, no cause of death has been officially determined.) “No – to the decriminalization of drugs,” reads the poster, according to The Sun. See the controversial ad below.
Gregory Logean, who is president of the political party in Unterwallis, Swizterland, issued the following statement:
“The death of Amy Winehouse put a sad reality before our eyes that other parties often forget — the harmful effects of drug consumption. It is not our methods which are shocking — it is reality. We are displaying a photo that the whole world already knows. Winehouse was known not only for her songs, but above all for her drug excesses.”
Do you agree that Amy was known more for her drug habit than for the award-winning music she created? Let us know below.
