Following recent news that Florence + The Machine had handed in the follow-up LP to Lungs to record label Universal, frontwoman Florence Welch gave her fans a surprise on Twitter yesterday. “Hello interworld, I’m out of the studio and into the sunshine! Pop over to my website at 5pm tomorrow for a peek at something very special,” she tweeted. “And it’s not just footage of me riding my bike in 90’s florals…x” Well, lo and behond — dreamy new single and video “What The Water Gave Me” has been unveiled! Watch below. The ethereal clip kicks off with shots of Florence both in the studio with her band and outside in the sun, looking properly angsty and awash with that pensive euphoria pop stars with a fair amount of depth always seem to possess in music videos.

Flo eventually begins to bewitch us with the lush, vibrant “What The Water Gave Me” and her mesmerizing hand gestures. (Watch her really go at it around the 3:18 mark.)

We’re not quite sure what the water gave Florence, but we’re receiving a big overflow of sorcery with this new jam!

Paul Epworth has spent the last few months producing Florence’s sophomore LP. “It’s a weird record that sounds live in ways and like a machine in others, with sensitivity and power from both the music and Flo’s voice,” he tweeted recently.

Flo’s website announced yesterday that details on the album will be revealed “very soon.”
