Joe Jonas’ ‘Fastlife’: Fall Preview
Halloween candy has made its way onto store shelves, and we’ve already gotten our first taste of sweater weather. This can only mean one thing: Idolator’s Fall Previews are just about ready to wrap up. Which brings us to Joe Jonas’ debut solo album Fastlife. The dapper singer has set his sights on becoming the next Justin Timberlake, but will his new LP take him there? Fasten your seatbelts, jump below and hold on tight as we give you the full rundown on everything you’ll need to know about what the 22-year-old pop star is serving up now.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE LP: If you’re looking for “Burning Up II”, you’ll have to look elsewhere. Joe has used Fastlife to explore a more mature sound and visual style (as seen with his steamy French romp “Just In Love”). Prepare your ears for dancey club beats and lyrics about chasing the ladies. We assume that JJ is attempting to fill the void left by Justin Timberlake. After all, the former Disney star did reveal that he has been inspired by the former Mickey Mouse Club crooner. “He’s absolutely an inspiration,” Joe told Paper magazine. “I look up to Justin so much. He pretty much created his own lane.”
TOUR PLANS: JJ is currently in the midst of his 19-day tour with Jay Sean, and come October 16, the pop star will be joining Britney Spears on the European leg of her Femme Fatale tour.
OUR THOUGHTS: We think it’s high time the 22-year-old stepped out on his own and broke free from his Disney mold. While kicking off a solo career (one that apparently includes producing and staring in his own flick) with a completely different sound is risky business, we think that Joe’s fans have grown up too and are probably ready for something more mature. Joe’s opening track “All This Time” is instantly likable. And if you’re in the mood for more of a solid dance track, jump ahead “Kleptomanic”. Getting ready to hit the clubs? Then “Love Slayer” is your jam. Producer Nate “Danja” Hills shared of the photogenic pop star,”If I give him something people can move to on top of his natural charisma, that’s like dynamite and gasoline.” But will Fastlife explode come October 11? And more importantly, will it convince ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift to collaborate with the New Jersey native? We’ll have to wait and see.
