Joe Jonas’ video for “Just In Love” (aka the reason your laptop screen is particularly steamed-up today) has arrived, and in it the middle JoBro takes a stand for adulthood (and sexyhood) while aiming at a serious solo career, a la Justin Timberlake, who Jonas has said he finds to be inspiring. Hey, wait a minute — Justin. “Just In Love.” Anyway, head below for a roundup of the critics’ opinions on Joe’s sultry Paris romp with a French model.

:: VH1 says of Joe’s new vid, “It’s a smart play: as he toes the line of ‘adult’ representation regarding sex, which everybody notices, he slyly introduces a more grown-up aesthetic in the background. And for our money, it works.”

:: MTV adds, “The retro-tinged, very sexy clip is set in Paris, with Joe cavorting around town with French model Angele. The two run around in their designer duds, making out in cafés, catching the metro, driving around in cars, hanging out in a bathtub and kissing in bed (a lot).”

:: The Improper makes this quip about Jonas and his gal pal: “No purity rings are in sight as Joe climbs into the tub with her.”

:: The Huffington Post notes, “Paris has always been the city of transformations. It was true for Audrey Hepburn, it was true for Ernest Hemingway and now the city of light can be proud of initiating another young soul: Joe Jonas.”

:: Music And Lyrics isn’t feeling Joe’s sexy vibe: “The song is nice, I like it, but I agree with many people out there saying this is not single material, and that it sounds too outdated, like it is unreleased record [sic] from Mr Timberlake’s Justfied era, or N’Sync’s!”

:: HollywoodLife.com wonders who has the SexierBack — Joe or Robert Pattinson?: “We’ve been so excited to see Rob, 25, in his Breaking Dawn love scene, but now a new contender for hottest back has come into the race! Joe, 22, looks great in his just-released video for ‘Just In Love’ — and we can say for certain we wouldn’t mind being locked in the bedroom with him either!”

:: Gawker plants tongue firmly in, um…never mind: “Anyway, this is all to say that it seems that lil’ Joe J. has thrown his purity ring into the Seine because who the hell cares. The only way for an ex-boy bander white boy to make a go of a solo career is to sex and R&B it up, so here’s Joe Jonas, taking a stab. And a stab. And another stab. Just in and out, in and out, ’til he arrives.”

:: Popservations also seems distracted from the actual music at hand: “Purely for mildly pervy reasons, I want Joe Jonas’ solo career to happen. Actually, anyone with eyes should find little objection to seeing more of the 22-year-old singer around.”

:: Finally, PopJustice lists every single thing Joe does in the clip. A particular knee-slapper: “Joe Jonas looks at a ceiling.”
