The Lonely Island, Michael Bolton And Akon Sex Up The Emmys
Last night’s Emmy Awards telecast didn’t hit too many high notes when it came to recognizing music-related shows (though Outstanding Directing for a variety, music or comedy series went to Don Roy King, for the May Saturday Night Live episode starring Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga). That said, at least there was the SNL spin-off “group” The Lonely Island, who performed a medley of their Turtleneck & Chain jams “I Just Had Sex” and “Jack Sparrow” — complete with Akon and Michael Bolton on backup — and “3 Way” (featuring Maya Rudolph filling in for Lady Gaga).
