The United States and United Kingdom sure do have a great back-scratching strategy when it comes to televised singing competitions. Great Britain gave us Pop Idol (which turned into American Idol), then we sent America’s Got Talent (which turned into Britain’s Got Talent) across the pond, and they returned the favor by shipping over The X Factor. The cycle continues with the UK edition of NBC’s The Voice, set to premiere in spring 2012. The first announced judge and mentor on the Brit edition is Jessie J, filling in the role of the young, melismatic pop diva. Which has us thinking: who are the British Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green? [Via]
