As much as we try to focus on any uplifting Michael Jackson news – his pretty awesome-looking Cirque Du Soleil tribute show finally premiered, yay! – the Conrad Murray manslaughter trial goes on, continuing to bring more disheartening details about the King Of Pop’s life and death. Besides a never-ending assortment of pill bottles found by Jackson’s bed at the time of his death, the court revealed more audio of a clearly out-of-it MJ speaking to Murray in a low, slurred voice.

In the audio, Jackson can be heard telling Murray, “I love [the kids] because I didn’t have a childhood. I had no childhood. I feel their pain. I feel their hurt. I can deal with it.”

He continues: “‘Heal The World’. ‘We Are The World’. ‘Will You Be There.’ ‘The Lost Children.’ These are the songs I’ve written because I hurt.” After an extended silence, Murray asks if he’s okay, and he says, “I am asleep.”

Oh man. Hope you can handle several more weeks of this, folks. This trial won’t be over anytime soon.
