Evanescence Return To Top The Charts

A whole lot of people missed Amy Lee’s brooding — after a five year break, Evanescence has made a kingly return to the Billboard charts, scoring their second #1 album with 127,000 copies sold. Meanwhile, Idol champ (and last week’s chart-topper) Scotty McCreery’s Clear As Day falls down a few spots to #4, saddled right on top of his Idol collegue Lauren Alaina’s Wildflower, which debuted at #5. Lady Antebellum and Martina McBride also appear in the Top 10, making this a very country-leaning chart week, indeed.

Metal rockers Five Finger Death Punch earn the highest debut of their career with their third LP American Capitalist coming in at #3. And, shocking no one, Adele’s 21 holds strong at #2. Seriously, are people building houses out of Adele CDs at this point? (Her single “Someone Like You” remains at the very top at the Hot 100, too.)

Beyond the Top 10, Joe Jonas’ Fastlife debuted at #15 with 18,000 units. Apparently Nick is everyone’s favorite Jonas, as the youngest bro’s solo album Who I Am bowed at #3 in 2010 with 82,000.
