After transforming “Drummer Boy” into a hot club track, Justin Bieber lets a Christmas classic speak for itself, only slightly tweaking Mariah Carey’s yuletide melody “All I Want For Christmas Is You” into a “superfestive” remix. As it doesn’t stray too far from Mimi’s original, we assume the “superfestive” part comes from having Justin Bieber’s angelic vocals added to the song. In his latest Billboard cover story, Bieber recounts how Mariah suggested a duet on her Xmas song, but only if it was sung in her original key. “That was the hardest song to do,” Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun says. “A year ago that would have been no problem.”
“Yes, that was high,” the pop star adds. “But I grinded it out and we got it down.”
